Finally arrived to Mexico! (Geographicaly Mexico is located in the North America, so never say it's part of Central America! lol) After visiting African countries, access to any types of ingriedients are incomparably easy, but again, Mexico city is located above 2000m altitude...Not easy for a udon maker!

I keep going with this topic as I want to write more related to corona virus pandemic.
Obviously something like family, love, friends are important factors for everyone on the planet. But after traveling to various countries of the world, now I am more convinced that people’s believes and philosophies are different in every country.
For example in Japan, like I’ve written on the previous post, the sense of “Don’t cause troubles to others” is so strongly valued among all of the Japanese people. Every time I go back to Japan, I am overwhelmed by the number of prohibitions written on walls. One of the common reviews from tourists visiting Japan is “Too many rules”. Yes, I agree. Totally. Probably Japan in the only country in the world, where complying to “don’t cause troubles to others” is more important than doing what you really want to do. On the other hand, Japan is really strong when it comes to teaming up with others without causing troubles to others, as you could see how we did when we had a terrible earthquake, and also with corona virus now. We tend to not break rules, if breaking rules could cause trouble to others.
These are the cases of reactions with corona virus pandemic around the world. I was so convinced with every case.
In Italy, I’ve seen a news saying that Italian people are going out even under quarantine period. People say that they don’t care if they will be infected to corona virus. I can imagine Italian people saying this(no offense). Maybe it’s more important for them (for many people from latin countries) to “enjoy the moment under any circumstances”, because we all never know what will happen in the future. The situation could get better or worse tomorrow. Who knows. It’s justified for them.
In India, I saw a web article saying that Indian people are drinking cow urine for a cure or a prevention of corona virus. In Bangladesh or Malaysia, I saw a web article saying that a large number of Hindus or Muslims(?) are gathering in one place to pray for the god. I can imagine them doing all these things. Science is not everything. How can anyone justify that science is the most important factor?
There are many foreigners stuck in Bolivia like I am. One Australian guy stuck in Bolivia said, when we heard the news about 2 weeks quarentine, “I just need beers”. I laughed because his comment, right after an official announcement, was this! I was like “Oh you are the real Aussie!”.
As I mentioned above, people in every country have their own believes, philosophies, or so-called their own “justice”. We all cannot criticize the way people are because in a way every justice is justified.
コロナウイルスに絡めて続きが書きたくなりました。その３です。
家族とか愛とか友達とか、ある程度大事にしてるものは世界各国で共通していると言えると思うけど、当たり前だけど、信仰とか哲学みたいなものに各国で違いがあるなと思います。
例えば日本では「人に迷惑をかけてはいけない」という意識はめちゃくちゃ強いと思います。日本に一時帰国しても思うのだが、人に迷惑をかけないため(か？)、どこの壁を見てもおびただしい数の禁止事項が書いてある。これは観光客として日本を訪れた外国人が声を揃えて言う。Too many rules. いや、私も本当にそう思うよ。「人に迷惑をかけてはいけない」が「自分をやりたいこと」よりも重要視されるのは、世界でも日本くらいではないかと思う。一方で、震災の時もそうだったが、今回のコロナのような騒動の時、人に迷惑をかけないという意識のもと一丸となる強さを持っている、とも言える。
世界を色々見てきた身としては、世界のコロナ関連のニュースを見て、「らしいな〜」と思わざるを得なかったいくつかの例を挙げる。
例えばイタリアでは外出禁止令が出ているのに「俺はコロナになっても構わない！」と言って、外出したり、チークキスしたりしている、とのようなニュースを見るが、容易に想像できる。どんな状況でも「今」を楽しむ！という感覚がラテン諸国の正義なのかもしれない(？）もしかしたら明日にはコロナ状況は良くなってるかもしれなしい、悪くなってるかもしれない。この正義観もある意味間違いではない。
一方で、インドでは牛の尿を飲んでコロナウイルスを予防？治癒？しようという行動があったとのニュースをみた。これまた「らしいな〜」と思った。バングラデッシュかマレーシアかどこかで、ヒンズー教徒かイスラム教徒が大規模な集会を行っているらしいとのニュースを見た。これも容易に想像できる。科学だけが全てでないのである。科学が全てである保証がどこにあるのだろうか？
ボリビアには身動き取れなくなった私を含む数々の外国人がいるわけだが、とあるオーストラリア人が２週間の外出禁止令が出たと聞いた時、殆ど表情を変えず「I just need beers」と言った時、思わず笑ってしまった。オーストラリア人らしいなと思った（笑）
わかっちゃいることだが、各国で信仰、哲学、つまり正義のあり方が異なるのである。一概に自分の国の考え方だけで、他国の正義を批判することはできない。ある意味、どの考え方も間違いではないからである。

Because of corona virus boom all around the world, I am stuck in my room for 2 weeks in this county in South America, Bolivia. This morning, I went to a kitchen in a hostel I am staying, and it was so messy like an after party. When I stay in a hostel with only Japanese tourists, this would never ever happen (no offense!) There seems like there is a cleaning person who does work every morning, so nobody cleans their dishes the night before. Japanese people in general have grown up with this extreme mindset taught everywhere in Japan, “Don’t cause troubles to others” , so this kind of thing never happens. (This teaching is sometimes so strong and extreme that some people cannot follow their own path, which I think it’s creepy…)
When I was in Cuba, I accidentally happened to stay in a hostel very close to an open-air music concert hall, and couldn’t fall asleep because this unbelievable loud live music was going until 2am in the morning. After traveling to more than 70 countries, It was actually my first experience to try to fall asleep right next to the music concert hall. I honestly thought “Are you out of your mind…?”, but for Cuban peoples living here this must be normal.
I wrote many things here, but what I want to state here is, as written on the subject, there are various justices around the world. And your justice isn’t necessarily justice of others. There is nothing like “It’s normal to be like this!”. There are situations that you just don’t know or understand. In Rwanda, the communication like above could be normal, in Bolivia, it may be normal that people don’t clean their dishes they used, and in Cuba, it may be more important to enjoy dancing to music till 2am than not disturbing someone else’s sleep. Yes, so the key phrase that we all should remember is “ they’ve got their situations that I don’t know/understand”. This phrase would be helpful in many occasions in life. Never get too emotional…! lol
コロナウイルスにより、絶賛外出禁止中の南米のボリビアにいる世界を旅するうどん屋ですが、今朝宿のキッチンに行ったら「なんかのパーティー後かよ」というくらい汚かった。日本人宿と呼ばれる日本人が多くを占める宿に泊まると、こんなことはまずあり得ない。どうやら、毎朝仕事としてキッチンを掃除する方がいるので、前夜の夕食の片付けはほったらかしで良いという認識っぽい。「人に迷惑をかけてはいけない」と異常なレベルで叩きこまれてる日本人としては、良いか悪いかは別にして、考えられない素行である。
キューバにいる時、なんか知らんけど泊まってた宿がライブ会場に激近で、夜中2時まで爆音が流れていて眠れなかった。屋内会場でないので、音が外部にもダダ漏れである。なぜオープンエアで夜中2時までライブ・・・色々な所に旅してきたが、普通に寝たい時にライブ会場の真横で寝る体験は初めてでうるさいどころの話じゃなく、爆音すぎて耳が痛くて眠れなかった。本音としては、「こんな時間までバカかよ・・・」と思わずにはいられなかったが、この宿近辺で生活するキューバ人にとっては普通なのであろう。
色々書いたが何が言いたいかというと、タイトルの通り、世の中には色々な正義があり、あなたの当たり前が世間の当たり前でないということが往々にあるのである。普通こうでしょ！はどれだけ吠えても存在しない。あなたにはわからない（又は知らない）事情がそこにはある。きっとルワンダではこのようなやり取りが日常なのだろうし、ボリビアでは何かしらの理由で自分が使ったものは綺麗にしなくて良いが正義なのだろうし、キューバでは知らない誰かの睡眠より夜中2時まで踊ることのほうが重要なのである。そう、だからこんな境遇に遭遇した時の合言葉は「ま、なんか皆んな色々事情があるんだろうな〜」である。決して感情的になってはいけない・・・！（笑）
