#UdonChallenge 698/1200 #addisababa #ethiopia

Even though I mentioned chaotic part of Ethiopia below, there are actually lots of Japanese people and expats from other countries in the capital city, Addis Ababa. Expats living in Addis know how hard it is to cook anything here because of the water quality, altitude, gas power and so on...but in the end I was relieved that they were all happy.

Famous Ethiopian food other than Injela is this one, simple "raw meat"! I usually avoid eating anything raw in some countries, but I love raw foods as Japanese person, and I felt like " what the heck am I doing here as a traveling chef without eating local food!", so I just courageously tried it. Afterall I was totally okay health-wise, and obviously raw meat is always great!

People digging salt in northern Ethiopia. It is over 40 degrees celcius...

Near the border of Djbouti, the neigbor country of Ethiopia, there are security people with guns. I haven't done anything bad...lol

In southern Ethiopia near the border of Kenya, when I was walking no where trying to meet this ethinic minorities, he picked me up with his car. Definitely the worst road ever for 10hrs(My butt is gone...lol), but was one of the best experience in Ethiopia.

This place with ethnic minority in southern Ethiopia is known as a tourist spot, but it is still hidden unexplored area. It was probably one of the best moment I had in African continent. So glad to be able to see and know that there are people living like this in this modernized world. (They aren't wearing the costumes not for tourists, those are their ordinary wear). There are more ethnic minorities in this area, I believe this is truly a hidden gem. But just to let you know, the capital city is with lots of builidngs and shopping malls. Lots of Chinese investment throughout the country.

Longing to spend days like a character from Haruki Murakami’s book does

Even though on one hand side, I am spending and enjoying exciting days as a world traveler, on the other hand side, I am longing for days very calm and delicate.

First of all I need to make it clear that I am not actually spending days like this, but I am willing to. It’s kind of like my dream. I wish to wake up in the morning early, tidy up my bed, and cook healthy food with no rush. I wish to play music while drinking a cup of very hot nice coffee, brush my teeth, wash my clothes and dry them under clear blue sky and beautiful sun. I wish to clean every corners of my room perfectly, and spend time during a day taking care of my vegetable garden, jogging, or doing some creative stuff with no due date. Tidy up my nicely dried clothes neatly, take a bath, have a glass of beer, go to bed reading a novel about unimportant topic, and sleep for 8 hours or so. This is kind of like one of those guys that appear in Haruki Murakami’s books, isn’t it? (If you haven’t read it, I recommend to!)
