One of my concerns in Thailand was if it is acceptable for Thai people to step on udon dough, as feet are considered as unclean and head is a symbol of clean. But my guests today, who owns their bakery and Thai cuisine cafe enjoyed stepping as well, saying its okay because it’s the culture from other country. Also I was a bit shocked that slurping noodles and holding up bowls are considered impolite in Thai culture. Probably slurping is common habits only in East Asian countries. Maybe how Goku from Dragon Ball eats food is only welcomed in East Asian countries…lol

心配事が一つあり、タイでは頭が清浄、足の裏が不浄とされており、タイ人に我が国の文化「うどんを踏む」をやっていただけるのだろうか？！という懸念がありましたが、外国の文化ならマイペンライ！！（タイ語で大丈夫）とのことで、今回のベーカリー&タイ料理カフェで働くタイ人の方々にも踏む体験をしていただけました！ちなみにタイ人は麺を「すする」「器を持つ」も無礼にあたるということを知り、同じアジアなのに！と密かにショッキングだったのですが、よくよく考えれば「すする」がポピュラーなのは東アジアだけなのかもしれないと学びました。ドラゴンボール悟空食いは東アジア以外では超無礼なのかもしれませんね・・・笑
